Lise McAlpine, a Certified Paverpol instructor since 2009, has dedicated herself to the art of multimedia sculpting and teaching through her venture, Fabric Art Rocks, established in 2010. With extensive training, including three Master Classes, she has honed her skills within the international Paverpol and textile artist community. Paverpol, the environmentally friendly, water-based textile hardener she uses, creates durable sculptures suitable for outdoor display year-round, further confirming her commitment to sustainable art practices.
Maaka Squier is a fiber artist from coastal British Columbia whose work is inspired by the beauty and spirit of the natural world. Drawing from personal visions and the serene atmosphere of her garden, Maaka creates richly textured, luminous tapestries that reflect a deep sense of peace and wonder. With a background in fine arts and over 30 years of experience across multiple mediums, she now channels her creativity into fiber art using hand-dyed silks, felted wool, embroidery, beadwork, and more. Her pieces evoke a dreamlike space between Earth and Heaven, filled with color, texture, and soul.
Merryfelting is the creative collaboration of Vancouver-based artists (and married couple) Anna and Leo. Specializing in handcrafted wool and plywood characters, they bring whimsical creatures to life through the meticulous art of wet and needle felting—each piece requiring thousands of needle pokes and weeks of work. Their hand-cut, hand-painted plywood designs are equally unique, made without templates and filled with personal charm. Every creation is made with care, adding a touch of warmth and personality to any space.
